He made USD $2.766 Million with this “Market Maker” Strategy

Ok, what happened was that a couple of year back in 2017, I was introduced to this guy at an investing conference in Taipei. His name is Terrance and for years, I always thought he was a stock or forex trader.

Then last year, I bumped into him back in Singapore near my house and we started to chat more. I am always excited to talk about investing and see what other strategies and systems other seasoned investors were using… but I was super surprised when I started discussion i realised this guy know NUTS about investing.

In fact he told me, “I don’t invest or trade the markets…”

I was confused, “How then do you claim to make millions from the market when you don’t invest or trade?”

Looking at my confused face, he gently laughed and explained…

He asked, “In the markets, when someone buys, another person sells right?”

“Yes…?” I replied

“And both of them thinks they are right! But probably only one of them or both of them may lose money.” He said.

“Ok… So, where is this going?” I asked

He said, “Do you know, no matter who wins, the ‘market maker’ will still win? Basically, I am with the ‘market makers’ and making money from there”

hmmm….. I have heard of this term market maker before, but I never actually understood what it meant.

Definition from the Motley Fools: Individuals or Institution can be ‘Market Makers’ and they make money through bid ask spreads, generating them a significant amount of income.

Means both you and I can participate in this too???!!

Maybe a easier way is to explain like how money changer makes money…

Andy wants to buy JPY YEN and he will pay with dollars

Betty wants to sell JPY YEN and get dollars

So there we have a “Buyer” and a “Seller” in the market. But when we want to change money, we do not go around hunting for someone else to change with us.

We go to the money changer.

The Money Changer isn’t interested to get JPY or USD, they just help to buy from you and sell to someone else and they make tonnes of money with the bid-ask spread!

“Ah… so you are the money changer!” I said after he explained!

“Haha…. something like that. I am on that side of the market where it doesn’t matter market goes up or down. Like money changer isn’t affected if JPY Yen goes up or down. In my case, I don’t even put up any capital to be part of that business.”

It was totally an eye opener to realise that the market I have been in all along, lies a group of individuals who has been making money consistently, with zero market risk…

I am pretty excited to know that he do conduct talks and classes to teach individuals how to set this up (That was what he was doing in Taipei but i missed his sharing).

So this Thursday 23rd May 8pm, I am asking him to do a sharing for us specifically on how this whole business works on zoom.
